Languages (Spanish)
At St. Peter’s Primary School, the core language taught in Year 2 and throughout Key Stage 2 is Spanish. We provide a broad, vibrant and ambitious language curriculum that will inspire and excite our pupils. Our vision involves sparking an interest in and positive curiosity about languages, offering the opportunity to explore relationships with language and identity with the intention of creating lifelong language learners. We believe that modern foreign language learning enables children to widen their horizons and be able to travel confidently both now and in later life. We aim to develop children’s experience of language acquisition, to develop their understanding of what they hear and read and have the ability to express themselves in speech and writing. Pupils will strengthen their sense of identity through learning about culture in Spain and comparing it with their own culture.
